Mar 24, 2022

To invest in a better future for our communities, RTOERO has awarded scholarships valued at $3,000 each to 20 post-secondary students in 2021. The scholarships will help the students to pursue goals that support well-being and the health of our people and places.

Two students nominated by District 10 Bruce Grey Dufferin members have received scholarships:

Jamie Struthers’ degree is PharmD in Pharmacy and a B. Sc. in Honours Science from the University of Waterloo. She completed a geriatric elective, and has worked on a paper about elder abuse and how community pharmacists can identify it.

Devon Jahnke is enrolled in the Masters of Clinical Science-Wound Healing from the University of Western Ontario. She is a chiropodist at the Centre for Complex Diabetes Care at Health Sciences North in Greater Sudbury, a certified Diabetes Educator and has her International Interdisciplinary Wound Care Certificate (IIWCC).

The awards go to university or college students enrolled in programs leading to careers that support RTOERO’s mission. RTOERO members are encouraged to recommend students for the scholarships.

Over the past 21 years, RTOERO has awarded scholarships totaling more than $500,000.
